Not long ago I purchased two selfie stick with the mind of gifting them away. The reviews about the Selfies were mixed, but on the positive side, One with the zoom in and out for the camera was build in, the other with the small key chain type remote for Android and iOS.

Unfortunately  none of them hold the phone landscape mode, and when I turned it to portrait mode I was unable to bring it back to a horizontal (landscape) mode. This issues were presented also with  the higher end zoom  stick.  I decided to fix the problem myself....... you can do it  yourself too !!

Fix Your Selfie Yourself No Tool Required !!

I created a You Tube Video about how can you fix it under 5 minutes and less than the price of a
Hamburger meal in your local fast food place.

All you need is  5 pieces of special Key-Type Hose Clamp of 5/8" size and several drops of glue.

Recommending to use this type clamp on the left. Key-Type Hose Clamp.
The best price I find is in the Harbor Freight Tool Store.
On this demo I used the Kjstar Z07-1 Selfie
Stick and the 5/8" clamp was easy to slide on to the handle from there the telescopic rods gradually narrowing down to the end where the phone bracket connected.
Therefor you not need any tool to do the job.
Make sure the rod under the clamps, is dirt and grease free!
The last step is to ad the glue on the top of the clamps.

Inserting the Key-Type Hose Clamp
First step to slide 5 pieces of Key-Type Hose Clamp on to the Selfie Stick, one by one.
You can open the telescopic rods all the way and lay it down on a table so you can work comfortable on it.

There are several advantages  to use this type of clamps. No tool  need, relatively easy to tighten it,  just don't over tight it and brake the end of it. I did installed and removed several times all 5 of it and still in good shape.

Next step position the clamp just about the end of the second to the last telescoping rod and tighten to the point to have a firm grip on the tub but do not over tight yet.
Repeat all the steps till you get back to the handlebar. When you installed all the clamps the next step is to lined up straight all the clamps
Naturally the yellow key head of the clamps have to look downward.

Checking clamp alignments
Checking the clamp alignments
In this steps lift up the end of the monopod as    you can see in the picture on the left to  your eye     level and look down to see if any of the clamp is out of the line. If you have to adjust any of it do it  now. Tighten  all the clamps, and lay it down in a fat surface  with the clamp keys on the bottom. Next steps will bee  the final steps to secure the top of clamps to the end of the rods. Please make sure the rod under the clams are dirt and grease free before tightening down.

Please use adequate protection for your hands!

Place the Selfie on a solid flat surface and secure it.
Fill up with glue each of the clamps top two gaps.
See it in action in the video above.

Make sure the glue is not running down on the rod and specially not going between the two tubes!
You can tape up the tube connections with masking tape for extra caution.
